In this fiftieth
anniversary edition of Air & Space Law celebrating the journal’s legacy as
an important contributor to the legal challenges and issues facing the
space-faring community, one cannot help but marvel at the growing commercial
utilization of space. As more commercial space actors join a renewed space
race, we will inevitably see a surge in the development of important
technological innovation. This article consdiers the international space law
pertaining to commercial space travel and travellers with a focus on the
obligation to rescue.
