The rise of large language models is transforming the work of both counsel and arbitrators. This contribution examines the existing and emerging framework governing the use of AI-based tools in arbitral proceedings seated in Switzerland, including in light of the EU’s AI Act. It concludes that self-regulation, together with case-specific disclosure duties and other procedural safeguards, is generally better suited to preserve the integrity of arbitration than new legislative controls.
