The High Court of Islamabad, Pakistan, has ruled that courts would follow the international conventions on air carriage as prescribed in the Carriage by Air Act, 2012 while deciding the quantum of damages against air carriers for the liability arising from international air carriage. The court affirmed it while deciding that aggrieved parties are free to choose between a special consumer court or a civil court when bringing claims against an air carrier under the Carriage by Air Act, 2012.
