From 1 August 2023 to 29 February 2024, there have been several competition developments in the aviation sector. The European Commission is reviewing the ITA Airways/Lufthansa and Air Europa IAG mergers. Meanwhile, it conditionally approved the Korean Air/Asiana merger. Ryanair continues to bring cases against the Commission in relation to state aid approved during the COVID-19 pandemic.
