This report summarizes the discussions at the fifteenth Liability Seminar of the European Air Law Association (EALA), held on 21 and 22 May 2026 in Paris, France. The seminar brought together judges, practitioners, academics, insurers, airlines, air navigation service providers (ANSPs) and regulators to discuss contemporary liability issues across the aviation sector. The programme examined current developments in passenger rights, social inflation and Montreal Convention claims, liability arising from air traffic management (ATM) disruptions, ground handling disputes, administrative sanctions, and the selection of appropriate dispute resolution mechanisms. Throughout the seminar, speakers explored how evolving regulatory frameworks, operational realities and increasing litigation risks continue to reshape the allocation of liability within the aviation industry.
