At the first annual general meeting of the Scottish Branch, held in Edinburgh on 31st October 1967, the members and guests were addressed by the President, Leslie S. Wheeler, F.C.A., and by Professor J. M. Halliday, M.A., Ll.B. The President spoke on the Institute, its work and its future. Much of his address was contained in the subject matter of his inaugural address, which was reported in full in the last issue. Accordingly, we have not reproduced the President's address here, but only the address and subsequent discussion of Professor Halliday, who occupies the Chair of Conveyancing at the University of Glasgow and is a member of the Scottish Law Commission.
