This article gives an overview of this unique form of alternative dispute resolution and its use in dispute avoidance, management and resolution in the construction industry in Hong Kong. Whilst hitherto the DRA system has been used exclusively in the public sector, the author argues that there is no inherent reason why it should not be adopted by the private sector.
