This article discusses the December 2013 proposal to establish a Singapore International Commercial Court to resolve cross-border commercial disputes. Particular attention is devoted to the extent to which the Court may provide competition to international commercial arbitration in Singapore, both as a court of first instance and as an appellate body empowered to review judgments for substantive error.
