This article is a brief comparative survey of the law and practice of arbitration in Dubai and Hong Kong, with particular emphasis on the factors influencing the arbitral systems in each jurisdiction. These include key differences between the systems of procedural and substantive law, the manner in which the courts consider arbitration-related applications, legislative provisions and approaches towards the management of arbitrations.
