This article speculates about trends in construction dispute resolution over the next ten years, both in Hong Kong and in the wider East Asia region. In Hong Kong, adjudication is predicted to become the primary process for resolving disputes. In both areas, the author predicts increases in the use of mediation, Dispute Resolution Advisers and Dispute Advisory Boards, while the use of arbitration will be maintained in a number of situations in Hong Kong and in relation to both domestic and international disputes in the PRC.
