This Country Update discusses major developments in international commercial arbitration in China since 2015, particularly (i) changes made by the Supreme People’s Court with regard to arbitrating domestic disputes overseas, the conduct of international arbitrations on the Mainland through foreign arbitral institutions and the prohibition of ad hoc arbitration in China, and (ii) new rules promulgated by major Chinese arbitral institutions.
