This article reviews the development of foreign investment laws and investor-State dispute settlement (ISDS) in Mongolia since the collapse of the former Soviet Union in 1991. In particular, critical attention is paid to Mongolia’s approach to investments by overseas mining operators and how ISDS tribunals have reacted to it.
