This article discusses the impact of digitalisation of international commerce with particular regard to the application of decentralised ledger technology (DLT), the challenges faced by dispute resolution mechanisms in handling DLT-related disputes and the attempts made thus far to tackle them. In this regard, the authors propose and argue the case for a set of ‘homegrown’ Asian Dispute Resolution Rules specifically formulated for Asian conditions.
