This article focuses mainly on the interaction between blockchain technology and the law in the context of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Firstly, it briefly introduces blockchain technology and ‘smart’ contracts as instruments for dealing with disputes that arise from the blockchain. Secondly, it discusses ADR’s evolution from a traditional to a ‘revolutionised’ mechanism in relation to blockchain disputes. Finally, the author provides a sceptical analysis of the feasibility of ADR in resolving such disputes.
