This article is a comparative discussion of Malaysian domestic arbitration rules, international arbitration rules and the arbitration laws of Malaysia, England, France and Portugal, so far as they relate to the extension of contractual time limits for the making of arbitral awards. The author makes practical suggestions aimed at minimising difficulties in securing such extensions of time.
