On 14 July 2006 the governments of Mainland China and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region concluded a juridical assistance agreement on reciprocal enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters. This article summarises the agreement and discusses whether litigation is likely to become a serious competitor to arbitration in relation to cross-border disputes.
