This article discusses diverse aspects of a number of overseas mediation-related statutes, rules of court and government-supported voluntary codes. The author proposes that the fundamental interests of parties to Hong Kong mediations would be best met by the enactment of a statute dealing with core issues such as evidentiary privilege and confidentiality.
