The Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC, or the Centre) is a leading, independent arbitral institution with over three decades of experience of providing dispute resolution services to parties doing business in, or through, the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA) region. This article describes the procedural framework for requests for interim measures and the appointment of an Emergency Arbitrator under Articles 1 and 2 of Appendix II to the DIAC Rules 2022 (Rules) and analyses applications for the appointment of an Emergency Arbitrator (Emergency Arbitrator Application) received by the Centre in the period 2023–2025.
