Whistleblowing in the UK is regulated by the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 (PIDA). The primary purpose of this article is to critically examine the position of whistleblowers in the UK. This article argues that notwithstanding the attempt to amend the PIDA with the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013, the provision of adequate protection for whistleblowers has not been sufficiently addressed and there is need to consider reforms to the present whistleblowing law in the UK. This article also proffers some suggestions to mitigate the weaknesses inherent in the PIDA.
