The ESAs Board of Appeal is a joint body of the three Authorities that displays quasi-judicial functions ensuring internal enforcement of the rule of law within the Authorities and a final administrative review process for appeals relating to the ESAs decisions. It also works as a de facto filter for the ECJ, which retains however full competence over the legitimacy of the Acts adopted by the Authorities under Article 263 TFEU.
