The European Federation for Investment Law and Arbitration (EFILA) held its ninth Annual Conference on Thursday, 25 April 2024 in Frankfurt, Germany. The panellists discussed the new frontiers of international investment law ranging from how domestic courts enforce arbitral awards, sanctions, energy transition, to valuation methods in times of geopolitical tensions. Various angles were presented, and possible future challenges of international investment law were expressed. The need for new approaches to understanding international investment law and foreign direct investment was stressed. As a result, solutions and new theories were discussed during the 2024 EFILA Annual Conference. The day before, also the third Young EFILA event took place in Frankfurt.
