The Union Customs Code (UCC) applies since 1 May 2016. The new Code is an important tool of the Customs Union and aims at achieving modernization through full automation, streamlined and harmonized procedures and processes and modern methods of control and risk management. It also pursues achieving better security and safety as well as facilitation of legitimate trade.
