China's national security review (NSR) regime came into force in 2011. Within the past two years, NSR regime is starting to show a far-reaching effect on the landscape for foreign M&A deals in China. This article sets out in details the substantial and procedural NSR issues. It aims to provide a full picture of Chinese NSR, as well as analysis of specific topics on a practical dimension of legislation governing the NSR regime in China.
