On 21 November 2011, Luxembourg and the Russian Federation signed a new protocol to the existing tax treaty of 28 June 1993. This article analyses and comments on the main changes introduced by the different provisions of this new protocol, comparing them where relevant with the new protocol concluded to the tax treaty between the Russian Federation and Cyprus and the tax treaty and protocol thereto concluded between the Russian Federation and the Netherlands.
