The XIII International Congress of the Club Español del Arbitraje (CEA), throughout its five round tables, had the purpose to analyse the main changes that the arbitral world is facing and the measures that are being carried out to adapt arbitration to the new challenges. Firstly, the discussion was focussed on the steps to be followed by CEA to improve arbitration in Spain. At the following round table, reflections were made on the relevance of mediation in connection with arbitration and their compatibility. Finally, the panel discussion analysed the impact of new technologies on arbitration proceedings
The XII CEA-40 Meeting focused on three topics: the opinion that companies have about arbitration proceedings and companies representatives pointed out some aspects that should improve in order to make arbitration more attractive, how the decision on Achmea case could impact on the future arbitral awards and different methods for the calculation of damages in arbitration cases.
The most vivid and lively discussion was held during the II CEA Women Breakfast, highlighting the power of persuasion as an essential tool to succeed in arbitration.
