Summary

The General Assembly of the United Nations adopted on 20 December 2018, at its 73rd session, the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation. It called upon the UN Members States and regional economic integration organisations that wish to strengthen the legal framework on international dispute resolution to consider becoming a Party to the Convention.2 This Convention will be opened for signature in Singapore on 7 August 2019, and will therefore be called henceforth “the Singapore Convention on Mediation”.
