Three important topics in international trade warrant periodic clarification to increase awareness on three relevant topics relevant to international trade in goods: International Commercial Terms (‘Incoterms rules’), Value Added Tax (‘VAT’) and Customs. Some or all are often disregarded or, even if considered, their relevance is underestimated, just as with the potential impact of VAT and Customs obligations; an important context for trade, therefore, includes risks assumed by the seller and the buyer, which result from the Incoterms rules agreed to by the parties.
