ABSTRACT: When Arbitration of Corporate Law Disputes is concerned, it is crucial to consider that, presently, the corporate phenomenon encompasses the most various Shareholders' Agreements ("pactos parassociais"). Duly understanding the idea behind these agreements and the peculiarities of their interpretation is vital to assess how these features affect arbitration clauses therein provided. The article presents two exercises to test these arguments, stressing that the importance of acknowledging an agreement as Shareholders' Agreement is to bring the Corporate Law principles and rational to the analysis of such contracts.
